Rain, snow, wind, rain. The Gales of November are knocking at the door at the time of the annual Chicken Dinner Classic, and we've seen it all. The tournament is played regardless of the hand Mother Nature gives us. In 2012, the event started with two teams and has blossomed to consist of more than 12 teams annually. The venue has been the Fortress for the majority of those years, but has been shifted elsewhere because of snow. The winning team will be awarded the coveted "Chicken Schnitzel" and hold it until the following year's tournament. More importantly, they will be engraved in history.
The conditions can be brutal in late-October, so it's a good reminder you'll have fun, but don't forget to dress appropriately! The Fortress can be picturesque, but like a fine wine, it can hit you when you least expect it!
Teams will consist of four players in a scramble format. The pins will be placed in a "toughman" format and the course will play long. There will be skins, selected prize holes and food for purchase at the turn. At the conclusion of the tournament, scores will be tallied as you enjoy a Chicken Dinner catered by Zehnders of Frankenmuth.
The price for golf, dinner and skins is likely to be around $100 a man. Please bring cash!

Enjoy a beautiful view overlooking the historical St. Lorenz Church in Frankenmuth and dig back and let it go!
A challenging par 3, 170 or so yards, over a ravene. Good luck!
Bring an extra ball up to the top of the tee box for this beautiful par 3. Hit over a pond and, again, good luck!
All players and their teams will be entered into skins play. Payout will be to teams who score the lowest out of the field on a given hole. Skins to be split.
Enjoy a catered dinner from Zehnder's of Frankenmuth after the round. Family style chicken dinner consists of fried chicken, buttery noodles and the fixings. Catered dinner to be presented at the Fortress Golf Course.
We will have designated drivers on hand (Meg) for those who drink too much. My house is about 3 minutes from the course so if you need to relax, don't pass up the opportunity.
